EARTH DAY

This was my first day attending and participating in Earth Day.  I honestly enjoyed this experience.  All of the students had really fabulous set-ups and were very informative.  I discussed my tri-fold with passers by and gave as much information in as little of sentencing as I could think of.  I liked that they had dirt cake for everyone to eat and that it was so casual and easy to talk with other presenters.

My presentation was about landslides.  I used the recent Oso situation to teach others about the effects of landslides and how humans can create these issues.

  1. JOANNA,

That makes me so sad, yet happy, to hear that this was your FIRST EARTH DAY celebration at Alverno! I am definitely glad it is something you got to experience prior to graduation.

This makes me think that we should try to promote this event MUCH MORE because I feel the information we each presented on held essential information that I believe our fellow students, from all disciplines, would greatly benefit from. Environmental geology is a HUGE discipline that focuses directly on the effects of human impact on the world.

Ladies, just think about how beneficial this event could be for all students in our school to be attending. This awareness/information really has the potential to make a difference on our campus, and BEYOND.
